Hi Chris,

This is Jamil from Yanbu University College. It’s really good to hear that you have settled quite well in UAE. We’re also back from vacation and the college reopened on the 6th of September. But practically there’s not much to do these days as the classes commence after Eid.

I’ve got to share a good news and a bad news with you. The bad news is that our colleague Mr. Omar Aidid is dead. And the good news is that our salary scales have been revised. So many of us have got around 2000SAR added to our salary.

Atlas Shrugged is my all time favorite. No kidding. Last week I was looking for it in the Glorietta mall book stores but couldn’t find it.

I saw you a few times b4 leaving a few weeks ago so perhaps you’ll still be there when I get back in a few days. I find the bustling cities and large compounds are the vacation I need from that island.

He was robbing the house for $300 which the expat father had sent home to his family. The robber thought the house was empty. It wasn’t, and when the mother and children recognized him, he killed them. Later he confessed and turned himself in. Disturbing, particularly when you consider it was over $300.
